This Privacy Policy applies to the Dewan mobile application available on the App Store and Google Play (the "App"). References to the "App" in this Privacy Policy refer to the Dewan App operated by Interlaken Inc. (the “Company”). The App connects users (“Users”) with third-party venues (“Venues”) and pre-vetted service providers (“Service Providers”) to book services for special occasions, such as weddings, engagements, and family gatherings (the “Service”). We respect and protect the privacy of our Users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information and is part of our Terms and Conditions when you use our App or Service. Your Consent Using our App or Service proves that you explicitly consent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our App or Service. What Information Do We Collect? When you register for the Service as a User, you will be asked to provide certain information, such as: Your name Phone number Email address Event details (if applicable) We will collect and store any information or User Content (as defined in the Terms and Conditions) you choose to send or receive using the Service, including reviews, comments, photos, or other content related to Venues and Service Providers. We collect and process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases: (i) your explicit consent; (ii) the necessity of processing to perform our contractual obligations; (iii) compliance with a legal obligation; or (iv) our legitimate interest in providing and improving our services whenever the governing law allows. To make payments for bookings through the App, you will be charged for the services booked, including any applicable fees (e.g., taxes, service fees, or deposits). Payments are processed via our Billing Service Provider (Hyperpay as contractor), which has its own legal terms. The Billing Service Provider will ask you to enter your payment information, such as credit card details and billing address. We may also collect non-personal information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as: Anonymous usage data Referring/exit pages and URLs Platform types We may use your public IP address to detect your location to understand where our potential Users are coming from. Note that our App or Service may not be available in all areas. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as health or religious beliefs) unless explicitly required for service delivery and based on your explicit consent. Your Rights Under Jordanian Law Under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023 (hereinafter, the “Law”), you are entitled to exercise the following rights with respect to any personal data we hold about you: Right of Access: You may request a copy of all personal information we have collected and processed about you, including the categories of data, the purposes of processing, and any third parties with whom we have shared it. Right to Rectification: If you discover that any of your personal data is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, you may ask us to correct or update that information. Send your request to [email protected] , specifying which data fields need correction and providing the correct information. Right to Erasure (“Right to Be Forgotten”): You can ask us to delete your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or if you have validly withdrawn your consent and there is no other legal basis for us to continue processing. Please be aware that certain data may need to be retained for compliance with legal obligations (for example, tax or accounting records). If any data cannot be erased for legal reasons, we will inform you of the specific grounds. Right to Object to Processing: If at any time you object to our processing of your personal data for marketing purposes, profiling, or any other reason based on our legitimate interests, you may do so. We will cease processing for that purpose unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds to continue or are required by law. Right to Request Restriction of Processing: You may request that we temporarily suspend (i.e., “block”) the processing of your personal data if you contest its accuracy, believe the processing is unlawful, or need it preserved for use in legal claims. We will evaluate such requests and, where valid, restrict processing until the issue is resolved. Right to Data Portability: If we process your personal data based on your consent or for the performance of a contract, and such processing is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to transmit that data to another data controller where technically feasible. If we cannot comply fully (for example, because data must be retained to fulfill a legal requirement), we will explain the reasons and the applicable legal provisions. How Do We Use Your Information? We may use cookies and/or tracking pixels. Cookies are small files that include an anonymous unique identifier. They allow us to recognize your device and remember certain information to personalize your experience on our App. We may use cookies to compile aggregate data about App traffic to improve our Service. We may use both persistent cookies (which remain on your device until deleted) and session cookies (which expire when you close the App). A tracking pixel is a tiny pixel-sized image that allows us to track App visits, advertising impressions, and other types of activity. It may also be referred to as a web bug, beacon, or page tag. Do We Use Google AdWords? Yes, we may use Google AdWords remarketing services to advertise on third-party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to our App. This could involve advertising to Users who have not completed a task, such as finalizing a booking. Ads may appear on Google search results pages or sites in the Google Display Network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your past visits to our App. Any data collected will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Google’s privacy policy. You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Preferences page. How Do We Respond to "Do Not Track" Signals? We may track your browsing behavior to tailor suggestions and information for you. Some third-party services may also track your activities to personalize content. You can opt out of certain tracking by adjusting your device or browser settings. However, our App may not respond to “Do Not Track” signals, and some features may not function properly if tracking is disabled. How Long Do We Store Your Information? We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes stated in this policy or to comply with legal obligations, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymized.. We employ advanced encryption, access controls, secure data storage systems, and staff confidentiality training to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties for commercial or marketing purposes, except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., sharing with Venues, Service Providers, or our Billing Service Provider to facilitate bookings and payments). We may disclose your information if required by a valid court order in a civil or criminal proceeding. Other Users may access and share your User Content (e.g., reviews, comments, or photos) via the App, social media, email, or other platforms, as permitted by the Terms and Conditions. If we transfer personal data to third-party service providers outside Jordan, we ensure such transfers comply with applicable legal safeguards and are approved by the competent authorities. Not Intended for Children Our App and Service are not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from or about children under 18. Users booking services for events must ensure compliance with any age or legal requirements set by Venues or Service Providers. User Consent to Receive Communications in Electronic Form By using the App, you consent to receive emails via the email address you provided during registration. All Terms, agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications provided electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. We may use your email address to send messages about the App, Service, or special offers. Changes will be posted on our page, and we may, but are not required to, send an email notice.
